Provenance

Where it came from

Released in early 2003 as part of the Aquapolis expansion, this card represents a pivotal era in the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It was produced by Wizards of the Coast during the tail end of their licensing agreement with The Pokémon Company, marking the second of three E-Card series sets that featured dot-code technology for use with the Nintendo e-Reader peripheral.

The card features artwork by Keiko Fukuyama, who utilized a distinct, soft watercolor style that became synonymous with the E-Card sets. Jumpluff H13/147 was specifically designed as a 'Crystal' type variant, a highly sought-after subset of holographic cards that showcased the Pokémon's ability to change its elemental type. Its visual departure from standard card design and its gameplay mechanics were well-received by collectors, cementing its status as a foundational piece of the late-Wizards era.
