What it does
Your opponent's Benched Pokémon can't be healed.
It wears a rag fashioned into a Pikachu costume in an effort to look less scary. Unfortunately, the costume only makes it creepier.

Where it came from
The Mimikyu card from the Darkness Ablaze expansion was released in 2020 as part of the broader Sword & Shield TCG series. Mimikyu, a Ghost/Fairy-type Pokémon introduced in Generation VII, was designed to mimic Pikachu to gain the affection of humans, a concept that resonated deeply with fans and led to its status as a modern fan-favorite. This specific printing features artwork by the illustrator Hitoshi Ariga, who has been a long-standing contributor to the Pokémon franchise and is known for his ability to capture the unsettling yet endearing nature of Pokémon designs.
Darkness Ablaze was designed to center around the Eternatus VMAX and other powerful Generation VIII Pokémon, fitting into the competitive landscape of the time. The Mimikyu card, while categorized as a Rare, served as a thematic inclusion that highlighted the charm of the Alolan region within the Galar-focused set. Its reception among collectors was favorable, particularly due to the consistent quality of Ariga's character illustrations and the enduring popularity of Mimikyu’s tragic, ghost-in-a-disguise narrative.
