What it does
Once during your turn (before your attack), you may put Pikachu from your hand onto Pichu (this counts as evolving Pichu) and remove all damage counters from Pichu.
Search your discard pile for up to 2 basic Energy cards and attach them to 1 of your Pokémon. Put 1 damage counter on that Pokémon for each Energy card attached in this way.

Where it came from
The Pichu card from the EX Sandstorm expansion was released in 2003 as part of the Pokémon Trading Card Game's transition into the EX series era. This set was notable for introducing the Pokémon-ex mechanic, which emphasized powerful evolved forms, though this specific card remains a standard rare entry in the set's roster.
The illustration was crafted by artist Hironobu Yoshida, who brought a minimalist and clean aesthetic to the piece, capturing the character's signature playful nature. Within the competitive landscape of the time, the card was appreciated for its 'Baby Rule' trait, a common feature for basic Pokémon of its size that required opponents to flip a coin before attacking, adding a layer of strategic disruption to the game.
