Where it came from
Scramble Switch was released in the 2013 Pokémon Trading Card Game expansion titled Plasma Storm. As an ACE SPEC card, it belongs to a restricted card mechanic that limits players to only one ACE SPEC card in their entire deck, reflecting its powerful, game-altering potential. These cards were introduced during the Black & White era to represent advanced technology from the fictional Team Plasma, characterized by a distinct holographic etching and a unique blue-bordered design.
The card was designed to facilitate strategic pivots, allowing a player to move all Energy attached to one of their Pokémon to a new Active Pokémon when the switch occurs. This mechanic was highly regarded in competitive play for its ability to save energy from a vulnerable active Pokémon while maintaining momentum. The card's artwork, consistent with the futuristic aesthetic of the Plasma set, emphasizes the sleek, industrial technology utilized by the game's antagonist organization.
