Provenance

Where it came from

This promotional vinyl record was commissioned by Bankhaus Lampe, a historic private bank based in Düsseldorf, to serve as a high-quality seasonal gift for their clients and partners during the late 20th century. Released on the prestigious Deutsche Grammophon label under the catalog number 0666 965, the compilation reflects the tradition of German financial institutions commissioning bespoke classical music recordings to project an image of cultural sophistication, stability, and exclusivity during the holiday season.

The selection features a curated blend of classical compositions performed by artists associated with the Deutsche Grammophon catalog. The design of the release emphasizes the corporate identity of Bankhaus Lampe, utilizing a refined aesthetic typical of European institutional pressings. These records were never intended for commercial retail, resulting in a limited distribution that focused on maintaining long-standing professional relationships through the medium of high-fidelity auditory art.
