Provenance

Where it came from

Released in 1970 on the Columbia label, this compilation serves as a quintessential artifact of the Swedish 'vispop' era. The record brings together three prominent figures of Swedish light entertainment—Carl-Anton Axelsson, Robert Broberg, and Thore Skogman—to curate a collection of whimsical, nostalgic tracks centered on maritime themes, seasonal changes, and rural motifs. It represents a period where folk-inspired pop music dominated the Swedish airwaves, leaning into a blend of maritime romanticism and lighthearted storytelling.

The musical backing is provided by the orchestras of Hans Wahlgren, Sven-Olof Walldoff, and Ivan Renliden, all of whom were staples of the Swedish studio system during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Their arrangements were designed to evoke a warm, accessible sound intended for domestic listening, reflecting the cultural preference for wholesome, observational music during that decade. The production quality remains representative of the era's standard Columbia pressings, prioritizing clear, melodic arrangements that cater to the broad public appeal of these three entertainers.
