Divertimento D-Dur K 251 / Divertimento F-Dur K 247

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart composed these divertimenti in 1776 while in Salzburg, intending them as social music for private gatherings and celebrations. The Divertimento in D Major, K. 251, also known as the Nannerl Septet, was likely written for the name day of his sister, Maria Anna, while the Divertimento in F Major, K. 247, was commissioned for the Countess Antonia Lodron. Both pieces reflect the high-spirited elegance of the late 18th-century Austrian aristocracy, characterized by sophisticated wind writing and string textures.
