Divertimento Nr. 1 In Es-dur Kv 113 - Nr. 2 In D-dur Kv 131

This recording was released on the Austrian label Amadeo, a company deeply committed to documenting the classical repertoire, particularly the works of native composers. The pairing of Mozart's Divertimenti, K. 113 and K. 131, showcases his early mastery of the divertimento form, a genre intended for lighthearted entertainment in the aristocratic settings of 18th-century Salzburg. These specific compositions highlight Mozart's inventive use of wind and string combinations, reflecting a period of transition in his stylistic development.

The interpretation features Die Wiener Solisten and the wind ensemble of the Wiener Symphoniker under the baton of Wilfried Boettcher. This collaboration was indicative of the mid-20th-century Austrian effort to preserve authentic, regional performance traditions in recorded format. At the time of this release, these ensemble pieces were well-regarded by collectors for their clarity and adherence to classical structural integrity, serving as a standard reference for listeners exploring Mozart's more obscure orchestral works.
