False Preacher

False Preacher, released in 2022 under the Hornin' Sounds label, serves as a significant entry in the discography of Loïc Paulin. The project emerged during a period of experimentation within contemporary electronic and ambient scenes, reflecting the artist's tendency to blend intricate, layered soundscapes with unconventional rhythmic structures. Hornin' Sounds, known for its commitment to niche and evocative sound design, provided the platform for this release, which captures the distinctively melancholic and cerebral tone Paulin cultivated throughout his early 2020s output.

The design of the release emphasizes a minimalist aesthetic, mirroring the atmospheric tension found in the music itself. By stripping away extraneous visual noise, the packaging allows the listener to focus on the raw textural qualities of the compositions. Critical reception at the time of release highlighted the record's ability to create an immersive, almost cinematic environment, positioning it as a standout example of independent production where the deliberate limitations of the medium enhance the overall artistic vision.
