I Looked Back / A World Of Love (That I Found In Your Arms) (Le Ciel, Le Soleil Et La Mer)

Released by RCA Victor in 1967, this single features Perry Como interpreting the English-language version of the French hit Le Ciel, Le Soleil Et La Mer, originally composed and performed by François Hardy. The production reflects Como's enduring transition from the swing era into the mid-century easy listening aesthetic, characterized by lush, orchestral arrangements intended for adult contemporary radio play.

The session was produced under the meticulous oversight of RCA's team during a period when Como was consciously blending contemporary international pop melodies with his signature relaxed vocal style. While the track did not reach the heights of his earlier career chart-toppers, it remains a notable example of the era's cross-pollination between European chanson and American popular balladry, capturing a specific moment in the mid-1960s recording industry.
