Ich Träume So Leise Von Dir

The 2016 compilation Ich Träume So Leise Von Dir was curated and released by the Amsterdam-based record label Music From Memory. The label, known for its dedication to rediscovering obscure electronic and experimental music from the 1980s and 1990s, sought to highlight the work of three German artists: Heinz Becker, Karl-Heinz Stegmann, and Isabel Zeumer. This collection gathers rare, previously unreleased, or hard-to-find recordings that demonstrate the innovative synthesis of early MIDI technology, primitive digital instrumentation, and introspective, synth-driven soundscapes that defined this niche of European home-studio production.

The project was designed to preserve a specific moment in technological development where independent artists experimented with affordable digital hardware to create atmospheric, melancholic pop and ambient music. The design aesthetic of the release reflects Music From Memory's minimalist and archival approach, focusing on documentation of the original recording context. Upon its release, the record was well-received within the global digger and electronic music communities, lauded for shedding light on the quiet, personal creative output of artists who remained largely unknown outside of their local scenes during their active years.
