Ik Zou Zo Graag Een Vlinder Willen Zijn

Released in 1973 on the Elf Provinciën label, this record represents a notable chapter in the career of Wilma Landkroon. Known professionally simply as Wilma, she was a Dutch child star who achieved immense popularity in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The track features the musical accompaniment of De Makkers, a folk-pop group that frequently collaborated with Dutch artists of the era to produce accessible, melodic arrangements characteristic of the Dutch light music scene.

The song itself fits within the sentimental, easy-listening style that dominated Wilma's discography. During this period, the production choices often prioritized innocent, sing-along qualities tailored for radio play and television appearances. While these recordings were highly successful commercially within the Netherlands at the time, they are now primarily regarded as cultural artifacts of the specific Dutch 'kindster' (child star) phenomenon that captivated domestic audiences throughout the early 1970s.
