Intercord Goldene Märchenserie 12 - Tischlein Deck Dich / Die Sechs Diener / Die Bremer Stadtmusikanten / Des Teufels Rußiger Bruder

Released in 1973 under the Saphir label, this record belongs to the Goldene Märchenserie, a popular series of German fairy tale dramatizations produced by Intercord. These recordings were designed to bring the Brothers Grimm and other traditional folk stories to a younger audience through immersive audio productions, featuring voice acting, sound effects, and orchestral interludes that helped define the childhood soundscape of West Germany during the 1970s.

The production relies on a collaborative effort common to the era's educational and entertainment audio industry, utilizing a stable of ensemble actors often credited collectively rather than individually on the jacket art. The design aesthetic is characterized by the distinct, illustrative cover style used across the Goldene Märchenserie, which favored nostalgic, storybook imagery meant to sit prominently on retail shelves. The series was well received as a staple of home entertainment, providing a cost-effective and accessible way for families to engage with classic literature.
