Released under the Disques Pierre Verany label, this recording showcases the Ensemble Instrumental Jean-Marie Leclair performing works by prominent Baroque composers including Jean-Baptiste Loeillet, Georg Friedrich Händel, Johann Joachim Quantz, and Jean-Marie Leclair. Pierre Verany, a French record producer known for his commitment to high-fidelity audio and authentic period performances, curated this release to highlight the nuanced technicality and ornamentation characteristic of late 17th and 18th-century chamber music.

The ensemble, named in honor of the French violinist and composer Jean-Marie Leclair, aimed to provide a scholarly yet accessible interpretation of the era’s sonatas and instrumental suites. The design reflects the label's typical aesthetic of the era, which prioritized clean, minimalist presentation to emphasize the clarity of the recording. Upon its release, the record was well-regarded among classical music enthusiasts for its crisp sonic detail, capturing the intimate interplay between the baroque flute, violin, and continuo typical of the period.
