Kadın Öyle Bir Ateştir (Gazel) / Ha Babam Gel Bana / Yavrumu Kaybettim (Gazel) / Güzel Kara Gözlerin

Released by the Istanbul-based Edifon label, this 78-rpm record captures the distinct musical landscape of Turkey in the mid-20th century. During this era, labels like Edifon were instrumental in documenting the work of regional performers who bridged the gap between traditional folk melodies and the burgeoning commercial recording industry. These records served as vital cultural artifacts, preserving vocal styles such as the gazel, an improvisational and highly ornate form of vocal performance deeply rooted in Ottoman classical tradition.

The record features İsmail Demirdöven, a performer whose work exemplifies the intimate, resonant sound characteristic of the period's acoustic recordings. While specific design documentation for this individual sleeve or label is scarce, such releases typically utilized utilitarian, standardized aesthetic templates common to the Turkish music industry of the time. These discs were designed to provide accessible entertainment for a growing public audience, balancing the preservation of classical forms with the popular appeal of contemporary lyrical compositions.
