Keep On Jiving

Keep On Jiving was released in 1976 on the Kaya-Lami label during a vibrant era for South African music. The record emerged from the mbaqanga and soul-influenced scene of the time, capturing the energetic, groove-driven sound that defined urban townships. It reflects the period's cultural movement where musicians blended traditional rhythms with contemporary studio production to create music for both dance halls and radios.

The album reflects the collaborative spirit of the Kaya-Lami studio environment, where producers and session musicians often worked together to develop the characteristic tight arrangements and vocal harmonies of the decade. While the individual designers or illustrators of the sleeve art are rarely credited, the aesthetic typically utilized bold, high-contrast imagery intended to stand out on retail racks. The record was received as a solid entry in the genre, valued by listeners for its rhythm section and authentic regional appeal.
