Kjære Frelser, Før Oss Fremad / Vil Du Bli Fri Fra Din Byrde Av Synd

Released in 1962 on the Harmoni label, this 7-inch record represents the unique musical output of Aage Samuelsen, a polarizing and influential figure in Norwegian Pentecostalism. Samuelsen founded the Maran-Ata movement, an independent revivalist group that emerged in the mid-20th century to challenge the established religious norms of Norway. The record features his typical blend of fervent, rhythmic gospel music designed to facilitate emotional fervor during prayer meetings and street evangelism, reflecting the movement's focus on personal redemption and direct spiritual experience.

The design and production of this release were utilitarian, typical of the independent religious labels of the era that sought to distribute Samuelsen’s message as widely as possible to his followers. The tracks serve as audio documentation of the Maran-Ata Skien branch, capturing the earnest and unpolished style that defined Samuelsen's ministry. While the musical establishment at the time often viewed his work as unconventional or controversial, the recordings became essential artifacts for his devoted supporters, serving as both devotional tools and vehicles for spreading the revivalist message throughout Scandinavia.
