The A-Major Clarinet Concerto, KV 622, is widely regarded as one of the composer's final masterpieces, written in 1791 for the virtuoso Anton Stadler. The Sinfonia Concertante, KV 297b, presents a more complex history; while traditionally attributed to Mozart, musicologists have long debated its origins, with many suggesting it may be a reconstruction of a lost work from his 1778 Paris visit.

The production features the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under the direction of Leopold Hager, with Dieter Klöcker as the featured clarinetist.
