Konzert Für 2 Flöten Und Orchester In G-Dur / Konzert Für Flöte Und Orchester In G-Dur / Reigen Seliger Geister

Released by the Swiss label Ex Libris in 1981, this recording highlights the virtuosic flute repertoire of the 18th century. It features Peter-Lukas Graf, a renowned Swiss flautist and pedagogue, performing alongside the Camerata Zürich under the direction of Räto Tschupp. The album serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts of Swiss classical musicians during the late twentieth century, capturing the interplay between the soloist and the chamber orchestra in a period known for its refined approach to Baroque and Classical interpretations.

The selection includes Domenico Cimarosa’s concerto for two flutes and Christoph Willibald Gluck’s flute concerto, rounded out by the famous Dance of the Blessed Spirits from Orfeo ed Euridice. The design and production reflect the aesthetic sensibilities of Ex Libris, a label that focused on making high-quality classical music accessible to the Swiss public. The performances are characterized by Graf's technical precision and the ensemble's clear, articulated sound, which was well-regarded by critics for its fidelity to the stylistic nuances of the compositions.
