Where it came from
Released under the Caravan Serail label, Lamia Chitarra / Flamenco showcases the intricate guitar work of George Kradjian. The record emerged during a period of rising interest in world music fusion, reflecting the label's focus on intimate, character-driven instrumental performances that sought to bridge traditional Mediterranean styles with contemporary listening habits.
The production leans into a minimalist aesthetic, emphasizing the acoustic resonance of the instrument. While Kradjian’s compositions were designed to evoke the dramatic flair of flamenco, they are presented with a technical precision that marked a departure from more improvisational folk recordings of the era. The release received modest attention in niche guitar enthusiast circles, appreciated primarily for its clean, focused recording quality.
