Where it came from
Released under the Tempo label in the mid-20th century, this recording of the traditional German Christmas carol Leise Rieselt Der Schnee features the Kinderchor Rudolf Lamy. Tempo was a prolific West German record label known for producing accessible, budget-friendly pressings of classical pieces, folk songs, and popular hits, often targeting families and educational settings during the post-war economic recovery period.
The Rudolf Lamy Children’s Choir was a prominent ensemble in Germany, celebrated for its clear, disciplined vocal arrangements of choral standards. The design of these Tempo releases typically featured modest, utilitarian sleeve art consistent with the label's focus on affordable, high-volume production for the domestic market, reflecting a broader cultural emphasis on preserving traditional German holiday music during the rebuilding era.
