Les Corps Confondus

Les Corps Confondus was released in 2020 by the French musician and visual artist Loïc Notaroberto. As an independent project released outside of a traditional record label, it reflects a deeply personal approach to composition and sound design, emblematic of the self-distributed avant-garde electronic music scene. The work serves as a sonic exploration of intimacy and physical presence, utilizing textured electronic arrangements to evoke the themes suggested by its title, which translates to The Confused Bodies.

The aesthetic presentation of the record highlights Notaroberto's commitment to a holistic artistic vision, where the visual elements are crafted to mirror the auditory experience. By eschewing a commercial label, Notaroberto retained total creative control over the packaging and distribution, resulting in a limited-run object that functions as much as an art piece as a musical document. Its reception has been largely localized within experimental music communities that value raw, unmediated artistic expression.
