Where it came from
Released in 1987 on the Flarenasch label, this single is a comedic parody performed by André Lamy, a Belgian impressionist and humorist. It emerged during a period when Lamy gained prominence for his satirical take on French-language pop culture icons, specifically targeting the musical style and mannerisms of Johnny Hallyday. The record serves as a lighthearted caricature of the rock star persona prevalent in the French music scene at the time.
The track was designed to capitalize on the public's familiarity with Hallyday's vocal delivery, employing exaggerated intonations to create a humorous effect. As a novelty release, it reflects the era's appetite for satirical music and cabaret-style parodies. While it did not alter the trajectory of Hallyday's legendary career, it remains a recognized curiosity for collectors of French-language humorous records and pop-culture ephemera.
