Orchester Werner-von-Siemens-Schule Hannover Leitung Werner Dockhorn

This private press recording captures the performance of the Orchester Werner-von-Siemens-Schule Hannover under the direction of Werner Dockhorn. Likely produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s, such items were frequently manufactured as small-batch keepsakes for schools, parents, and local communities rather than for commercial distribution. These records serve as historical snapshots of mid-century German secondary education extracurricular programs, documenting the musical standards and pedagogical ambitions of the era.

The recording features the school orchestra navigating a repertoire typical of academic ensembles of the period, emphasizing classical standards meant to challenge and showcase student musicians. Without a formal commercial label, the disc represents a grassroots effort to archive institutional history, reflecting a tradition of amateur recording practices where local educators sought to preserve their students' milestones on vinyl. It remains a niche artifact primarily valued for its documentation of regional pedagogical culture.
