Quand Il Faut Quitter Ceux Que L'on Aime

Released in 1974 under the CBS label, Quand Il Faut Quitter Ceux Que L'on Aime stands as a representative example of the chanson française style that defined much of the French pop landscape during the 1970s. The recording captures the emotional, melodic sensibilities championed by the label at the time, functioning as a thematic exploration of departure and sentimentality common in the popular music of the era.

Martine Le Page worked within the professional production apparatus of CBS Records, which was instrumental in distributing melodic pop throughout Francophone Europe. While individual details regarding the specific art direction or initial chart reception of this catalog number remain sparse in general historical archives, the record sits within the broader context of mid-seventies European label output, which prioritized sophisticated arrangements and evocative vocal delivery to cultivate a loyal adult contemporary listenership.
