Quando Alguém Se Apaixona (Ninguém Pode Entender) / É Só Isso Que Eu Quero

Released in 1988 under the GEL label, this 7-inch single captures the essence of the Brazilian romantic pop scene of the late 1980s. Cléo Galante, a vocalist associated with the sentimental ballad tradition, recorded these tracks during a period when the Brazilian music industry was heavily influenced by international soft rock and local romantic trends, often blending orchestral arrangements with emotive lyrical delivery.

The record features 'Quando Alguém Se Apaixona (Ninguém Pode Entender)' on the A-side, a hallmark of the era’s radio-friendly balladry. Like many releases under the GEL imprint, the design and production were tailored for commercial airplay, focusing on a polished aesthetic that prioritized the singer’s vocal performance. While Galante remains a niche figure in the broader scope of MPB, this release serves as an artifact of the specific production values and distribution patterns common to mid-tier record labels in Brazil during the transition into the 1990s.
