Where it came from
Released during the mid-20th century, this 78-rpm shellac disc features the crooner Juan Eduardo, an artist associated with the prolific RCA Victor label during its expansion into Latin American markets. The record captures the romantic ballad style prevalent in the era, serving as a medium for the sophisticated, orchestral-backed vocal performances that defined the golden age of Spanish-language popular music.
The design follows the standard aesthetic conventions of RCA Victor’s international releases, characterized by minimalist labeling that prioritized the artist's name and the song titles. Produced for a broad audience of radio listeners and home enthusiasts, these recordings were intended to evoke sentimental longing, reflecting the widespread cultural appreciation for romantic boleros and waltzes that dominated the airwaves of the period.
