Quintett Für Klavier Und Blaser Es-Dur KV 452 - Oboenquartett F-Dur KV 370 - Sonate Für Fagott Und Violoncello B-Dur KV 292

This recording features three of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's notable chamber works, bringing together the Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat Major, the Oboe Quartet in F Major, and the Sonata for Bassoon and Cello in B-flat Major. Released under the Fontana label, a budget-conscious subsidiary of Philips Records, the album aimed to make high-quality performances of classical repertoire accessible to a broader audience during the mid-20th century. The inclusion of these specific works highlights Mozart's mastery of wind instrumentation and his innovative approach to blending varied textures within the chamber music tradition.

The performances are provided by the Kammermusikvereinigung der Wiener Symphoniker, or the Chamber Music Association of the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. As an ensemble deeply rooted in the Viennese tradition, their interpretation reflects the city's enduring commitment to Mozart’s legacy. Fontana’s presentation of these pieces was part of a wider effort to circulate European chamber music performances in the international market, relying on the pedigree of the Vienna-based musicians to offer an authoritative yet approachable listening experience for collectors of the era.
