Shine A Little Love / Confusion / Last Train To London / Don't Bring Me Down

This 1979 release from Discos CBS is a four-track EP featuring hit singles from the Electric Light Orchestra album Discovery. Following the success of the band's previous works, this collection was assembled to capitalize on the disco-infused rock sound that defined the group's late-seventies evolution. By consolidating tracks like Don't Bring Me Down and Last Train To London into a single E.P., the label aimed to provide radio stations and fans with a condensed showcase of the band's chart-topping momentum during a peak era of their commercial appeal.

The musical direction of this period was heavily influenced by Jeff Lynne’s meticulous studio production and the band's shift toward a more polished, pop-oriented aesthetic. The tracks included represent the peak of ELO's fusion of rock instrumentation with orchestral arrangements and modern synthesizers. Upon release, this record served as a definitive document of the band's mastery of the late-seventies airwaves, reflecting the sophisticated, layered studio craftsmanship that became the signature of Lynne’s vision for the group.
