Sotto I Ponti Di Parigi = Sous Le Ponts De Paris / Ma Tonkinoise - Scottich

Released in 1956 on the La Voce Del Padrone label, this 45 RPM single represents the mid-century Italian fascination with traditional French chanson and light orchestral arrangements. Barimar, the stage name of Marino Marini's younger brother, led an orchestra that specialized in sophisticated, accessible pop and jazz-inflected instrumentals designed for dance halls and radio airplay. The record features a double-sided arrangement of Parisian-themed classics, capturing the romanticized internationalism that characterized much of the Italian post-war popular music scene.

The label, La Voce Del Padrone, was the Italian arm of EMI and served as a cultural powerhouse during this era, often pairing popular continental melodies with the polished production standards of the time. The choice to include 'Sous les ponts de Paris' and the accompanying 'Ma Tonkinoise' showcases a deliberate effort to evoke an cosmopolitan atmosphere for the listener. While these tracks were standard repertoire for orchestra leaders of the period, the release remains a distinct snapshot of the era's light-entertainment aesthetic and the high-fidelity transition in Italian record production.
