Undead, Unfriendly And Unstoppable

Released in 1989 on the Anagram Records label, Undead, Unfriendly And Unstoppable stands as a quintessential artifact of the psychobilly genre. The Meteors, widely credited as the founders and pioneers of the style, utilized this record to refine the aggressive blend of rockabilly, punk, and horror-themed lyrics that characterized their late-eighties output. By the time this album arrived, the band had already established their reputation as the progenitors of a movement that prioritized high-energy, dark-humored defiance over the traditional polish of their rockabilly influences.

The album's design and aesthetic reflect the band's commitment to the low-budget, DIY horror ethos that defined the early psychobilly scene. The artwork and sonic direction were intended to maintain the raw, menacing atmosphere that fans had come to expect from lead singer P. Paul Fenech. While critics of the time often dismissed the genre as niche or shock-oriented, the record was received as a definitive statement by the band's dedicated cult following, solidifying their position as the primary architects of the scene's grim, high-octane sound.
