Walzer Aus "Schwanensee" - " Dornröschen"

This 1960 recording was released by Deutsche Grammophon, a label renowned for its high-fidelity captures of classical repertoire. It features Tchaikovsky's celebrated waltzes from the ballets Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty, interpreted by the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Witold Rowicki. The release highlights Rowicki’s commitment to precision and melodic clarity, reflecting the post-war efforts to showcase Eastern European orchestras on the global stage.

The design of this release follows the established minimalist aesthetic of Deutsche Grammophon during the late 1950s and 1960s, which prioritized the label's iconic yellow cartouche and restrained typography to emphasize the seriousness of the performance. By this period, Deutsche Grammophon was aggressively expanding its catalog to include essential Romantic-era staples, catering to the growing post-war market for high-quality orchestral vinyl in both Europe and international markets.
