Where it came from
The 1988 self-titled record by the project X-Beat, catalog number 91143, represents a niche entry in the late 1980s independent music landscape. Produced and self-released by the artist, the record emerged during a period when home recording and independent distribution channels allowed experimental musicians to bypass traditional label structures, resulting in this specific, low-profile release that reflects the D.I.Y. ethos of the era.
The design and production of this release were handled entirely by the artist, prioritizing creative autonomy over commercial polish. Because this record remains largely underground and lacks widespread critical documentation, it is categorized as a rarity within the broader context of independent experimental music from the late eighties, serving as a primary artifact of the artist's personal vision during that time.
