X-Tasy / X-Tenzion

Released in 1986 on the German TELDEC label, this record represents a niche intersection of European synth-pop and experimental electronic music. John Damon, an artist primarily known for his contributions to the mid-eighties underground electronic scene, crafted this project as part of the label's efforts to explore the burgeoning soundscapes of the era, characterized by heavy use of early digital synthesizers and drum machines.

The design and production philosophy behind the record prioritized the then-emergent 'high-tech' aesthetic that defined the mid-1980s music industry. By blending catchy, rhythmic pop hooks with the cold, precise instrumentation favored by studio technicians of the period, Damon sought to create a record that felt both futuristic and accessible. While the release did not achieve mainstream commercial success, it remains a documented entry in TELDEC's catalog for enthusiasts of the late-twentieth-century analog and early digital crossover period.
