X-Tasy / X-Tenzion

Released in 1986 on the German label TELDEC, X-Tasy / X-Tenzion represents the niche intersection of electronic experimentation and the synth-heavy dance music scene of the mid-eighties. The project was helmed by John Damon, a figure working within the broader European production landscape that sought to push the boundaries of high-energy percussion and synthetic soundscapes typical of the era. The record reflects a period when labels like TELDEC were actively exploring the potential of electronic sequencing and drum machines to create atmospheric, club-oriented tracks.

The aesthetic of the release aligns with the minimalist and futuristic graphic design trends of 1980s independent electronic music. By focusing on layered, repetitive textures and clean production, Damon aimed to capture the intensity of early dance floor culture. While the release remains a deep-catalog rarity, it is categorized by collectors as a technical snapshot of European independent electronic development during the transition from analog synthesizers to digital recording processes.
