X-Wife

The self-titled album 'X-Wife' was released in 2018 through the Portuguese independent label Rastilho Records. Emerging from the electronic rock scene in Porto, the band X-Wife established themselves in the early 2000s by blending dance-punk rhythms with post-punk sensibilities, a sound that drew frequent comparisons to contemporaries like LCD Soundsystem or Franz Ferdinand. This specific record serves as a pivotal entry in their discography, marking a maturation of their sound and a refinement of the high-energy, guitar-driven aesthetic that defined their career.

The design of this release reflects the band's minimalist yet bold visual identity, which has remained consistent throughout their evolution. The artwork is characterized by sharp, graphic compositions that mirror the urgency of their musical arrangements, favoring stark contrasts and clean lines over intricate imagery. Upon its release, the album was received as a welcomed return for the group, resonating with critics who valued the band's ability to maintain a consistent atmosphere of dark, club-oriented rock while navigating the shifting landscape of the Portuguese indie music scene.
