Where it came from
Released in 1994 on the Oihuka label, this album represents a definitive moment in the Basque radical rock scene of the 1990s. Soziedad Alkoholika emerged from Vitoria-Gasteiz, blending hardcore punk and thrash metal with biting, socially conscious lyrics that resonated deeply within the Spanish underground music circuit of the era.
The album's distinctive title and aggressive aesthetic reflect the band's confrontational approach to censorship and political discourse. While their abrasive style and controversial subject matter often drew fire from conservative media and authorities, the group remained a staple of the counterculture, solidifying their reputation as one of the most influential and enduring acts to come out of the Spanish punk movement.
