Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday / I'd Be A Fool Right Now

Released in 1969, Yester-Me, Yester-You, Yesterday was a pivotal single from Stevie Wonder’s late-sixties period, produced during an era when the Motown sound was shifting toward more introspective and mature lyrical themes. Written by Ron Miller and Bryan Wells, the song captures a nostalgic reflection on lost love, fitting perfectly into the polished, soulful production style that defined the Tamla label at the time. It remains a hallmark of Wonder's transition from his early Motown child-star identity to the sophisticated artist he would become in the 1970s.

This specific catalog number, 1C 006-90734 M, identifies a German pressing of the single, which highlights the global reach of Motown's distribution during that period. The record serves as a testament to the label's strategy of utilizing regional European pressings to maintain a consistent international presence for their roster. While the track was widely successful across Europe, the design and release followed the standard, reliable aesthetic templates established by the parent company for its overseas affiliates.
