Zig-Zag

Zig-Zag, released by the group Once More under the IBC label in 1979, emerged during a transitional period for independent record labels attempting to navigate the shifting landscapes of late-seventies experimental pop and post-punk. The release serves as a snapshot of the era's DIY ethos, where smaller labels provided a platform for artists to explore unconventional soundscapes that larger commercial studios often deemed too risky for mainstream distribution.

The design and production of the record reflect the minimalist aesthetic common to IBC’s catalog in the late seventies. While the creative team behind the artwork remains largely uncredited in mainstream archives, the sleeve utilizes stark, geometric motifs that were intended to mirror the angular, rhythmic structures found within the tracks. Upon its release, the record gained a modest cult following within underground music circles, valued primarily for its distinct production choices and the raw, unpolished energy of the performances.
