Assault Lich

Assault Lich, cataloged as BPRO-EN009, was released as part of the Burst Protocol expansion set. This set was designed to introduce a series of aggressive undead-themed monsters intended to shift the prevailing meta-game toward high-risk, high-reward offensive strategies. As a common rarity card, it served as an accessible engine piece for players looking to explore the set's synergy with graveyard-focused mechanics.

The visual design of the Assault Lich reflects the dark fantasy aesthetic common to the era of its release, characterized by sharp, angular line work and a color palette dominated by decaying violets and bone-white accents. While the artist for this specific piece remains uncredited in public databases, the illustration was clearly crafted to evoke a sense of kinetic, encroaching dread. Upon its release, the card was received as a functional, if modest, addition to the game's competitive landscape, often praised by budget-conscious players for its utility in swarm-style decks.
