Assault Sentinel

Assault Sentinel was introduced in the Dark Neostorm booster set, which launched in the spring of 2019. This expansion was designed to provide significant support for legacy archetypes and themes, specifically targeting the 'Assault Mode' strategy that first appeared in the Synchro-heavy era of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. As a common rarity card, it functioned as an accessible engine piece intended to streamline the summoning process for powerful high-level monsters.

The card’s illustration and mechanical design were crafted to bridge the gap between early-era mechanics and modern gameplay speed. By allowing players to search for 'Assault Mode' support cards directly from the deck, the design team aimed to make a previously cumbersome strategy more competitive and consistent. Upon its release, players recognized it as a vital utility card, valuing its efficiency in setting up board states rather than its individual power on the field.
