Black Dragon Collapserpent

The Black Dragon Collapserpent was originally introduced as a secret rare card in the 2013 Shadow Specters set, serving as a key component for the light and dark attribute engine that defined the era's competitive meta. The card was designed as a thematic pair with White Dragon Wyverburster, allowing players to facilitate easy special summons by banishing members of the opposing attribute from the graveyard. This design philosophy aimed to balance resource recycling with strict summoning conditions, making it a staple for decks that relied on constant graveyard manipulation.

The 2014 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, released as a retrospective collection, featured the card as a common rarity. By including it in this mass-market reprint, the developers made the efficient monster accessible to a wider player base, ensuring the card remained a functional utility piece long after its initial debut. It is widely regarded by players as a textbook example of effective card economy, maintaining its utility through simple yet potent synergy with its counterpart.
