Black Dragon Collapserpent

The Black Dragon Collapserpent was introduced in the 2013 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set Shadow Specters. Designed as a support card for the Chaos archetype, it functions as a lightweight resource generator that can be special summoned by banishing a Light-attribute monster from the graveyard. Its design focuses on synergy with its counterpart, White Dragon Wyverburster, allowing players to create a looping engine that facilitates high-level synchro or xyz plays.

The card’s aesthetic and mechanical utility reflect a mid-2010s shift in the game toward efficient deck thinning and graveyard manipulation. As a common rarity card, it was widely accessible to the player base upon release, becoming a staple for competitive decks that relied on the Dark and Light attribute balance. Its reception was largely defined by its reliability, solidifying its place as a quintessential utility monster in the game's broader competitive landscape.
