Black Dragon Collapserpent

Black Dragon Collapserpent was introduced in the 2013 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG expansion Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy and later featured as part of the SR02-EN017 card list in the 2016 Rise of the True Dragons Structure Deck. This card was designed as part of a thematic duo alongside White Dragon Wyverburster, creating a synergistic pair that facilitates special summoning by banishing monsters of the opposite attribute from the graveyard. The design reflects the 'Chaos' archetype mechanic, which relies on balancing Light and Dark monster management to maintain board presence.

The creature's design was conceptualized during a period where Konami sought to revitalize graveyard-centric gameplay. By allowing players to search for its counterpart upon leaving the field, the card became a staple for competitive decks relying on rapid Synchro and Xyz summoning. While the common rarity in the Rise of the True Dragons deck made it highly accessible to casual players, its utility in high-level play cemented its reputation as a fundamental building block for graveyard-focused strategies.
