Black Illusion Ritual

Black Illusion Ritual was originally introduced in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a core component of the Relinquished archetype. Designed as a Ritual Spell card, it allowed players to summon the powerful Relinquished monster by tributing monsters whose levels totaled one or more. Its thematic design reflects the dark, mystical aesthetic of Pegasus, the character who famously utilized this card in the animated series to challenge opponents with his unique supernatural abilities.

The Retro Pack series, which includes this version of the card, was released to provide players with accessible reprints of iconic cards from the game's formative era. By including classic cards like Black Illusion Ritual in a modern reprint set, the developers allowed a new generation of collectors to obtain cards that were once difficult to find while maintaining the original artwork and functional mechanics that defined the card's history in the competitive meta.
