Brilliant Fusion

Brilliant Fusion first debuted in the 2015 set Clash of Rebellions, later appearing as a Secret Rare in the 2018 compilation Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge. Designed to facilitate the Gem-Knight archetype, the card allows players to send monsters from the deck to the graveyard to perform a Fusion Summon, effectively serving as both a deck-thinning engine and a setup tool for graveyard-reliant strategies. Its design emphasizes versatility, allowing the user to bypass traditional summoning requirements by accessing the extra deck directly from the main deck resources.

Upon its release, the card quickly became a staple in competitive play, particularly for decks that could leverage the immediate access to both a monster summon and graveyard utility. The Secret Rare printing in the Battles of Legend series is highly regarded for its aesthetic, featuring the distinctive prismatic foil pattern characteristic of the set. While it eventually faced restrictions in tournament play due to its powerful resource generation, it remains a significant piece of modern card game history, representing a shift toward more complex, engine-heavy spell designs.
