Contract with Exodia

Contract with Exodia was released as part of the Dark Crisis booster set in 2003, a pivotal expansion in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game that introduced powerful support cards for various archetypes. This card serves as a specific ritual spell designed to summon Exodia Necross, a formidable monster that requires the legendary Forbidden One pieces to be present in the graveyard. Its inclusion in the set was part of Konami’s effort to expand the utility of the Exodia set beyond the original win condition, allowing players to utilize the iconic pieces in a more aggressive, beatdown-oriented strategy.

The card’s design reflects the darker, more intricate aesthetic that characterized the Dark Crisis expansion, emphasizing the lore surrounding the seal of Exodia. While the card is a common rarity, it remains a notable piece of game history for collectors who focus on the early era of the trading card game. It is recognized for its unique artwork and its role in enabling one of the game's most thematic and difficult-to-maintain deck strategies during the early 2000s meta.
