Damage Gate

Damage Gate was released in 2013 as part of the Battle Pack 2: War of the Giants set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was specifically designed to be played in a draft or sealed format, mimicking the high-stakes, epic duels often seen in the series' anime adaptation. The card serves as a strategic defensive trap, allowing players to Special Summon a monster from their graveyard when they take effect damage, reflecting the set's focus on creature-heavy gameplay and endurance during prolonged matches.

The card features an illustration depicting a mystical, crystalline portal emerging amidst a scene of destruction, adhering to the dark, high-fantasy aesthetic prevalent in the series. As a common rarity card, it was distributed broadly to ensure players could access its defensive utility during limited-format events. While it did not gain significant traction in professional competitive play, it remains a recognized example of the utility cards crafted to balance the resource-heavy environment of the War of the Giants format.
