Dark Blade

Dark Blade was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2004 as part of the Starter Deck: Yugi Evolution, a set designed to update the core play experience for fans following the television series. This deck served as a foundational release intended to provide players with a balanced selection of monsters, spells, and traps that reflected Yugi Muto’s evolving strategies, bridging the gap between earlier beginner sets and the more complex competitive expansions.

The card features an illustration of a cloaked, dual-wielding warrior, capturing the dark fantasy aesthetic common in the early Konami card designs. As a common-rarity normal monster, its value to players was primarily found in its status as a reliable, non-effect unit that could be easily integrated into Dark-attribute decks. Its inclusion in the Yugi Evolution set remains a point of nostalgia for long-term players, representing the era when simple, lore-driven monster designs were the backbone of the game's growth.
