Provenance

Where it came from

Double Summon was first introduced in the Tactical Evolution expansion set, released in 2007. As a Normal Spell card, it was designed to provide players with additional board presence by allowing an extra Normal Summon or Set during their turn. This utility card emerged during a period of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game where increasing action economy and swarming the field were becoming central strategies, marking it as a versatile tool for various deck archetypes.

The card features an illustration depicting two spectral-like figures emerging from a magical rift, reflecting its function of duplicating a summon action. As part of the Tactical Evolution set, it became a staple utility rare, valued by players for its ability to bypass standard summoning restrictions. Over time, it has been reprinted in numerous formats, cementing its place as a recognizable and functional piece of card game history.
